The village of North Palm Beach is an oceanfront community located nine miles north of West Palm Beach. It was developed largely by the insurance magnate John D. MacArthur and was incorporated in 1956. It has a population in excess of 12,000, a mix of families and retirees, and contains more than 6,000 housing units, including both single family homes and multi-family condominiums. Known worldwide for its recreation and leisure services programs, North Palm Beach boasts one of the finest municipal golf courses and country club complexes in South Florida. Just recently, Jack Nicklaus redesigned the Town’s golf course and charged only one dollar for his services. North Palm Beach is the only municipality in Palm Beach County that can claim a vast network of waterfront and canal-front properties, pleasing both beachgoers and boaters at one and the same time.
